Why don't you make a call to your Provincial Firearms office. There would be a lot of variables such as type and number of guns, ammo, type of vehicle, inhabited like a motorhome, alarmed, etc to be considered. You can remind them that many Police and wildlife officers keep rifles and shotguns in theirs. I would ask for their view in writing because an individual Police dept or officer may have a differing and less then amicable viewpoint.

The alarm issue presents a very interesting question. If it goes off, do you go to your vehicle or go the other way and call the police? (:
