CILA is the political arm. They literally rent/are donated space at the CSSA office.They/or Tony Bernardo are the ones who put out the eblasts. Buried amongst the long blasts is pertinent information, so to unsubscribe is not a good idea.
The CSSA was, up until a few years ago, the Ontario Handgun Assoc. They were responsible for the province's needs. Going national was, & is a great service to shooters - when they service the shooters.
The past executive director disagreed with the direction the CSSA was going, & resigned. Since then things have fallen apart. They do not even have any competitive shooters on their board. They claimed they did not even know there was a provincials until a couple of weeks ago. They have, for at least 30 years, been the sponsors of the Ontario Outdoor Provincial Championships, with much help from hosting clubs.
People are calling their office, emailing them with questions/problems/whatever & not getting a response. They are being left dangling in the wind.
So yes, it's wonderful having this organization, who, until a few months ago did their job, supported & spoke for shooters all across Canada, but that's not happening. The loss of the provincials is just the tip of the iceberg.
We, in Ontario, have given a huge amount of support & $$ to this organization for years & years & years. They have been, in the past our support, our voice, the heart of shooting in Ontario. This has collapsed.
So, start another organization?? We've had the best, up until now, for decades. Start from grass-roots again, when we have had this organization?? We pay our dues to the CSSA, & in return expect certain things back - & that's not happening.
That's why this has blown up.
