I just worry that in the event of an emergency (such as a hotel fire) that the discovery of an undeclared firearm -- even a properly stored, locked and licensed rifle -- could lead to unfortunate legal troubles. Thoughts?

: I think that Richard summed it up well. As I understand it (warning: internet advice, use at own risk), the hotel becomes your "residence" and you're allowed to store there.

: It is certainly less confusing for rifles than for handguns, but you should be okay.
