There seems to be this belief that if we just behave and go along and don't rock the boat we will be rewarded. Folks look at the history, it hasn't worked in the past and it won't work in the future. Don't you ever get tired of living under this constant threat, personally I'd prefer it just get pushed to a head, and get it over with.

With regards to SFC and funding, here's an example, IPSC doesn't take money form the SFC, it's really the only target sport that is growing in the country. They don't have to buckle under to appease their political masters.

Shooters in Canada are too small a group to really exert any pressure, unlike the US, where both parties have to tread a very thin line with regards to firearms legislation.

I still think shooters should actually join the liberal party, as that is the only way to change the party platform, and it's easy to do it from inside the party then to change it at the ballot box.
