Hi Andrew.

The .22 Long cartridge is probably the most popular round in the world, and is now almost exclusively shot for smallbore events internationally.

Using this round, you should be fine for most competitions below internationally sanctioned events. In the rapidfire event, there are minimum restictions on slug weight and muzzle velocity, but usually this is not checked unless the competition is pretty strict (i.e. ISSF run events).

Isn't the FAS 602 a .22 LR pistol? Were you shooting shorts through it before?
