Hi Calvin.

The angled eye piece is there to make it easier to view through, especially in rifle prone position, or for pistol shooters when the table is low. You don't have to get right behind it to see through it, so it's more of an ergonomic design.

I was given (thank you, Avie) a Bushmaster Spotter 20-60x60 scope with the angled eyepiece and I absolutely love it.
