How wide is your rear sight width? I find if it is really bright at the target, opening the rear sight helps. If the gap is too narrow its like the light flares on either side of the front sight and you loose the front sight. I've also found that getting the shot off quicker helps, if the shot doesn't go off quickly and you start to loose the front sight put the gun down and start over.

I've found the filters don't work great in that situaton because it reduces the light at the target but it also reduces the light at the front sight. The best ones I found that work a little are the orange and the amyethist (sp).
