The Fifth Estate has just treated us to its explication of the murders of registered sex offenders in Maine by a young man from Nova Scotia last year.
Naturally, his crimes were caused by his father's having exposed him to firearms during a brief period when the two lived together in Idaho.
His own, and his mother's, membership in a hyperfundamentalist Christian sect represented apositive influence, according to the CBC.
Naturally, guns cause aberrant behaviour. Who could disagree with that? The influence of the mother, with whom he spent most of his life, and of her church, were as naught beside the pernicious influence of his father and his firearms. When, O Canada, will we awaken to the evil of gunpowder?
