If you shoot prone only, you'll get better scores if you can keep your head on the cheekpiece while you check your target or that you reload. To achieve this, you'll need a spotting scope with a 45 deg. ocular. A scope that offer a long eye relief will also help a lot.

If you shoot at 50 meters, a scope in the 20X to 25X power will be just fine.

As for the stand, just about everybody use a Freeland.

Hope it helps,

Paul

: Need advice on getting a spotting scope for Smallbore Prone shooting. I've seen some of those that have a 360 degree rotating eyepiece. Also, would like to know what magnification and objective lens diameter is best? Also, any guidance on the type of tripod or stand to use?
